im so excited to share this news with everyone.....now this is pretty tentative since nothings written in stone yet....but im going to be attending suu for the spring semester. thats right. im gonna be a student. ive filled out my application form {but it costs $40 to apply so i have to wait till 11/5 to turn it in}, i take the ACTs on 12/9 {but it cost $25 to reserve a seat and test so i have to wait till 11/5 to call and schedule it}, and im currently in the process of filling out my fafsa application online. all i have to do is register for classes and get that financial aid, pay for everything and turn it all in and im done. i am DONE waiting.
in addition to THAT good news is this. for a long time ive wanted to bake....and get paid for it. as of mid november i will be employed at great harvest. my schedule will be 2/3 days a week 3am-9am. from there i will go to work at the high school from 11am-3pm. and i also have a connection at the suu post. i'll most likely start out just shadowing people but i hope to have a more permanent job there as well.
do you know what this means, people? im gonna be able to do 4 of my favorite things! bake, teach, write.....and get paid. hahaha!
i love you all! thanks for reading me! <3tristen

provo conference trip
While we were heading up to provo friday afternoon my good friend ray literally FELL asleep....all over me. haha my friend codie and i bore it with grace. i spoke the hump since ray is at least 6'2 and so is codie. in comparison i did not need the extra leg room. haha
thayne was kind enough to let me sleep on his bed in his new/old house he shares with some of his band mates. they are quite popular over there. just minutes before this pic of him playing on the piano was taken we had been at a party. he walked in and within seconds a kid was yelling, "shark speed!" later the kid , craig, learned thaynes name and wouldnt stop calling him until he shook his hand and talked to him for a few minutes. craig said, "youre the lead singer of shark speed right? youre my favorite local band right now. its awesome to see you around." the look on taynes face as he walked away was so funny! a mixture of "omg how embarrassing" and "im really not as cool as people think i am" and " how cool is it to run into a fan at a random house party?" haha our little thaynerB is really hitting the charts in provo.
it rained the whole time i was there. seriously. saturday {ALL DAY!} and before the sunday session of confrerence and give or take an hour or two, the rest of the day/night after the afternoon session of conference was over. and theres the snow on the top of the mountain to prove it.
on our way to the morning session on sunday thaynes friend tyler pulls out a pair of nonperscription glasses identical to thaynes. he wore them all day. so funny
im so glad i was able to get out to see aunt ronda, uncle dennis, denny and his family! after walking in i hugged ben and i swear it lasted a full minute! he's so strong and he squeezed the begeezes out of me! it was AWESOME! i will always remember that hug.
on the way back home sunday night ray was awake this time. we even switched places and ray drove instead of my friend tyler, and of course...i got to sit in the passanger seat. it was awesome to sit up front with ray and sing hymns together. i love my friends.

some lake powell pics
our first beach trip in lake powell. we had so much fun swimming for hours in the murky water, made orange by the sand being stirred up. its a beautiful affect, though.

the columbians we worked with for a while. carlos and jullian.
theyre very kissy. i would have none of it.
it took 20 minutes to get this pic. they wouldnt stop puckering their lips!
