I don't know if I've ever been so elated. At the beginning of the fall semester 2009 I moved into a new place and took all my things out of storage. Unfortunately my magnovox VCR/DVD Player must have gotten a little too banged up. When connecting the cables I heard the telltale buzz of transference but was unable to get any kind of power response. I was heart broken but able to use my old X-box for the purpose.

the silver lining of every day
A roommate of mine will be moving soon and taking the dvd player out of the central entertainment room. So I got my broken piece of machinery out of the closet and hooked it up, fingers crossed, holding my breath all the way. And, no surprise here, it still showed no sign of life. I kept it plugged in, however, hoping to call a repair shop or the manufacturers the next morning.
18 or so hours later, I'm sitting on the couch watching a movie on my roommates hardware and i happen to look over at the machine.
The lights are on.
I say again-- THE LIGHTS ARE ON!!
My breath stops in my throat. I literally can't blink. Until, finally, the nerves in my brain relay the message. Lights on means Power transference. IT'S WORKING!!!!
So much joy. I started crazy laughing and if I hadn't had homework to get to I probably would've started crying. I opened up the dvd drive and my favorite MIA movie was hiding within. Connie and Carla, it's great to have you back!

as some of you may know, the brendan leonard show had a huge affect on my sense of humor as a teenager and later on as an adult. the show was a cleaner, more creative version of the popular mtv show "jackass" and frankly, BLS was Waaay better. i recently started doing some homework in regards to the leonard family in a "where are they now" kind of way. i've discovered a whole lot. im pretty pleased with myself actually. i found out that the leonard family has its own production company called PictureShow. they have a family blog basically called Camp Jinx and the videos have recently been put on iTunes in podcast form. yes- i've downloaded them already. shut up.
after watching some videos and reading some articles i realized something verrrrry interesting. brendan's dad is mike leonard. yeah, big deal--i hear you saying it so lemme tell you why its a big deal. because mike leonard is a video journalist for good morning america! thats right--no wonder brendan had his own show when he was 19--his dad was already in the business! he had been forEVER too.
now i've come to adooore every member of the leonard family. they are my newly found special friends. they make me laugh- hysterically- and they've given me some very "deep thought moments" as good ol' mike would say. below is a quick link to a summary, if you will of the brendan leonard show provided by the PictureShow website itself. once the site is located scroll down and click on the BLS video on the bottom on the right hand side. thank you for reading. please follow the link and continue to smile and laugh after watching these attractive, amusing young men make absolute fools of themselves. you'll catch yourself thinking, "now THAT looks fun," more than once, i guarantee it.
